Heat Pump FAQs
Are heat pumps expensive?
The initial investment for a heat pump can be costly, but they deliver long-term cost savings. Because they’re about three times as efficient as electric resistance heating, heat pumps could lower your heating consumption by two thirds.
How do heat pumps work to heat and cool my home?
Heat pumps function much like a traditional air conditioning system only its process can be reversed to work during winter months. It has an outside unit that uses your same ductwork, but moves refrigerant through the system in the summer and switches to provide heating during colder months.
How long do heat pumps last?
The typical lifespan of a heat pump is 15 years. Just like with other heating and cooling systems, regular maintenance helps maximize and promote its lasting performance.
